Domed Top Wooden Doll Trunk

This example is a brand new fantasy doll trunk reminiscent of a real antique trunk for accompanying a doll on display, for play, or for storing doll clothing. Despite its wood-like surface finish this item is made of a light weight synthetic material. The inside is completely lined with white fabric decorated with pink buds and roses. It has a small drawer insert that will slide. The trunk has lots of brass tacks, brass hinges and a brass lock. The manner in which it is made gives it some 'old fashioned' appeal, especially at a distance.

Often newer items like this will be displayed in the company of antique dolls, and indeed things like this can make for a nice arrangement if genuine antique accessories are unavailable. But when only a picture can be seen it is possible for contemporary, modern accessories like this to be misrepresented as, or mistaken for, actual authentic period accessory pieces for antique dolls. Though new doll-sized accessories often can be attractively displayed in the company of real antique dolls, don't assume by virtue of that association they, too, must be antique in age.
