Dr. Mahlon William Locke drew crowds of thousands throughout the 1930s seeking his foot care, achieved with a few turns of the ankle but more with a "laying on of hands."
Many people claimed he cured all sorts of a foot ailments, some crippling. He always charged the sum of $1, and almost always healed in front of enormous crowds, whether in his native Williamsburg, Ontario, Canada, or on a circuit including the United States. He was a phenomenon of the Depression.
This real photo postcard is entitled "WAITING FOR TREATMENT AT THE FAMOUS DR. LOCKE CLINIC WILLIAMSBURG ONT COPYRIGHT," showing the assembled waiting patients under the tent at Dr. Locke's Canadian clinic.
The postcard is in very good unsent condition and measures 5.5" by 3.5".
