Vintage Morton Pottery Jardiniere or Planter Blue Floral Pattern

Morton Pottery of Morton, Illinois was actually several pottery companies operating between 1877 and 1975. The original company was the Rapp Brothers Brick and Tile Company.

This particular jardiniere design is circa 1940s and came in several different color patterns. This one is in cream and tan with beautiful embossed blue flowers and green leaves.

It is 3.5" tall and 3.5" wide, has a squared form, swelled sides, and side handles. It has feet and an icicle pattern on the front (under the flowers) and on the back.

It is in very good condition but with a tiny nick on one handle (see photo) and a chip on the bottom of a foot. There is also a splash of the tan glaze on the bottom. The interior is clean, was never used as a planter. It came from an Albuquerque, New Mexico estate sale.
