This colorful and rare little wooden toy dates to the 1920s and was made as both a toy (he does roll on those little wheels) and advertising for Poll-Parrot Shoes.
This rolling bright-eyed fish is 7" long and a little under 3" high. "Poll-Parrot Shoes" is printed in gold across the middle. He is in very good condition with most of his original paint.
The business was started by Paul Parrot who put the company name of several different kinds of toys and other items for children since his company specialized in children's shoes. The business, which lasted into the 1950s, was later bought by the International Shoe Company, which was already selling Red Goose and Weatherbird shoes.
