For nearly 60 years this mirror hung over my grandmother's buffet in her dining room. Decorated simply with ten flowers (perhaps wild roses or dogwood) with ribbon and swags between. It's the tasseled top that gives the final touch. Gold cord is wrapped around a wire to the top crocheted rosette and tassel. This wire, however, is just for the tassel. Another wire on the back holds the weight and a molly bolt is recommended for safe hanging. Original paper label is included. Although it fell off years ago, I have saved it in an envelope stuck on the back (see photo). It reads "White-Seid Products Baltimore # 3076.
Nice old gold color with aged patina. Just the mirror measures 36-1/2" wide and 28-3/4" tall. Overall height (to the top of the rosette) is 44 inches. All original. The only attention it has ever gotten is an occasional dusting. Note that the center of the top rosette (from which tassel hangs) fell away long ago revealing a bare wood center. Certainly not noticeable way up near the ceiling.
Be sure to look at the back. There are nearly 60 nails holding it together. Weighs 22 pounds. This item will require a special shipping container and professional packaging.
