Vintage Nail Keg Needed Modern Repairs

Still the original nail keg, but one end has been permanently closed to save it. Retrieved from my grandmother's basement 30 years ago, I am ashamed to say it sat in our garage for 20 of those years. Eventually the bottom fell out and the poor thing was falling apart. Intent on saving it, I dumped out the old rusty nails and had it repaired.

The new insert holds it together nicely and it can be turned upside down to make a rustic (but now sturdy) stand. Now I use it as a plant stand on the porch with the newly closed end on the bottom. Note the old bale strapping. Offers any number of decorating possibilities. Measures 17-inches tall and 10-1/2 across the top. Weighs 7 pounds.
