Offered here is an 8th grade U.S. history text book that belonged to my great-uncle, a student at the Ohio School for the Deaf in Columbus, Ohio. It is an in-depth look at American history with numerous photographs and line drawings taking readers through 51 chapters up to Harding's administration titled "Return to Peace" concluding with the presidential election of 1928. Winner was Republican Herbert Hoover who carried 40 states and won 444 electoral votes. It was less than a year before the stock market crash in October 1929 which ultimately lead to the Great Depression.
Book measures 8-inches by 5-1/2 with 573 pages. Also includes a complete copy of the Constitution, a list of the 48 state origins, population figures, with square mile area and numbers of congressional delegates. Good condition with all pages tight and intact. Page edges are age-darkened. Some pencil notations here and there.
