This 9" chintz plate from the Midwinter Pottery, England features a lush chintz pattern of bluebirds, pink roses entwined in leaves and branches. Also called 'Bird Chintz', the original name is Lorna Doone, perhaps recalling the countryside in the book? In any case, it sits atop a metal stand which is removable; it is held by a brad through a hole in the center of the plate...all original. One small chip underneath the plate, not visible or invasive to pattern or design. No cracks, stains, etc. A nice usable serving piece for cookies, cakes, or other dainties!
