French market Sonneberg type bisque doll loose ball body & Modes de Paris shoes
There are no hairlines to the bisque, just two small wig pulls, one above each ear. Please note also the missing or skipped paint on the LEFT side of the upper lip. It does not look like a rub, there is no surface scuff or damage there. Her ears are pierced with newer earrings. Her blue spiral eyes are stationary and her mouth is closed. Her long blonde mohair wig is a replacement.
The wood and compo German body is wonderful, of the type usually found on early Kestners with the loose ball joints and saggy bottom. There is a bit of chipping around the shoulders and surface rubs and wear around the legs and knees.
She is wearing a yellow hand made dress, slip and drawers. The clothing has not been washed and the underclothes have age discoloration and brown spots. The black cotton socks and leather shoes look original but with fading and wear. The shoes are marked on the bottom Mode De Paris with flanking A and a E and size 50. The LEFT sock has faded to brown and the LEFT shoe is in very poor condition. I did not attempt to remove the shoes and socks.
A beautiful German doll made for the French market! Thank you for stopping by!
