This RARE gorgeous Stratton gold tone pill box is signed - Made in England!
EXQUISITE Victorian style scene on the top. Charming picture, mischief, cherub-cupids, and a suitor trying to get his first kiss - is it love? Beautiful waterfall, flowers and trees in the background. Delightful!!
Elaborate shape and has the wonderful "nail saving" push button opener. The pill box has plastic tray with 3 compartments. Possible circa 1940's, maybe 1950's??
Catch is strong and shuts firmly, sprung to allow for ease of opening. Measures 2 1/2" long by 1" wide by 3/8".
Gold-tone case with embossed star pattern on the back. Marked with the Stratton - Made in England trademark. Its possible scene on front is enamel, or hand-painted? We cannot state that with any certainty.
Stratton compacts were designed and produced in Birmingham, England by Laughton & Sons Ltd. from 1923 until 1997. Known for their high quality and exquisite workmanship.
Excellent vintage condition. Exterior excellent, color vivid, goldtone bright; light wear from normal use - see photos.
Interior is bright and clean. Clasp excellent- works perfectly. left side compartment light separation at closing. Not the clasp, does not affect closing.
