Story of First Fling, promising racehorse, born on Kentucky breeding farm and destined for the Kentucky Derby until series of accidents complicates matters. Retrained as show horse. Becomes lost, used as workhorse, eventually is trained as a hunter and re-united with his owner.

Barbara May: Born in England, emigrated to Canada. Her particular love was the Pony Club, first District Commissioner of Ottawa Valley Pony Club. She worked with Humane Society to improve the lot of horses used in logging camps.

Hardcover, octavo, original unclipped dj, $2.75 flap, black-stamped salmon cloth line illustration colt gamboling in grass. Binding tight. Illustrations excellent & bright. Excellent/very good+ vintage condition. Cover excellent/bright/clean/light shelfwear includes top edgewear tips bumped-light fray-fading.

Pages excellent/very good++/bright/clean/few pp 1/4" edge spot/2-3pp few light spots/page ends spot. Ffep pencil inscription. DJ very good/illustrations excellent/bright-shelfwear includes some edge chipping-spotting-scuffing-smudging-rubbing-small corner and spine end tears.

Original, impossible to find true dustjacket - NOT a photocopy! Was difficult to capture dj color hues, has tan background and center horse is gray.
