Scarce 1868 antiquarian first edition, first printing children's hardcover book - What Makes Me Grow or Walk and Talks with Amy Dudley.
Amy Dudley, six years old, her life as a child with mother and family. Each chapter features author as child, discovering and learning about the world. Hence the sub title: Walks and Talks with Amy Dudley.
Amy's question to her mother: "Mama, What makes people grow at all? "Ah, Amy," replied mother; that is a good question to ask, and I am glad you thought of it. But try first whether you can find out yourself."
Thus the journey begins and the wonderful walks and talks continue. How she and trees and sheep can all grow is another story.
