Six charming stories of Colonial life written in a simple, delicate style by noted American author Anne Hollingsworth Wharton. Children's literature at its finest!

Magnificent art, 6 exquisite black & white lithograph prints, full page plates with frontispiece. Each drawing was an original painting by M. L. Kirk - Maria Louise Kirk. Beautiful dark green title page border drawing.

Kirk was a Philadelphia artist, she illustrated several popular children's books in the 1800's including: The Secret Garden, The Princess and the Goblin and Hiawatha.
