Oui, mes cheres amis, this is the ultimate cape to enchant your favorite Enfantine era Poupee! A beautiful cape for a beautiful doll, this lovely accessory is made of super thin cream wool with a quilted silk lining, decorated with hand sewn bead trim and lovely contrasting black lace. It comes together so wonderfully, creating a striking addition to any collection. It has become extremely difficult to find textiles from the 1860's, let alone DOLL clothing from this period, so if you are collecting for an Enfantine, particularly on a budget, grab this cape before it disappears.
Our model is 21" and is also available in our shop! She's a fabulous all original snooded china lady, inventory number RLI-1090.
Condition: The cape is in structurally very good condition. However, there is some mothing (see photos.) The black lace was a beautifully done later addition; the lace at the middle of the cape is a spectacular c. 1860 hand made lace, and the other, an 1865-85 machine made black lace that just looks wonderful. A similar cape sold at the Blondinette D'Avranches sale for $800 in perfect condition, however, due to the minor mothing, this lovely piece is being very affordably offered at less than a fifth of that price!

**We now ship EVERY SINGLE ONE of our antique costume pieces in archival, museum quality, acid free tissue paper. We store them in an acid free, climate controlled environment, because we want you to get a textile that has been frozen in time. As curators of these antiques, we want them to be as fresh for the next generation of students and enthusiasts as they were for us. This is factored into the price of our merchandise. We hope you can enjoy these rare finds for years to come, and we want to make sure that when they reach you, they are ready for careful love and display if you so chose, or to be stored in a destruction-free paper. Happy shopping!**
