These little shoes have some wear and tear, but are still in good, usable condition. The leather is still soft and supple and the shoes are intact with no seam tears or other defects. It appears that the original color of the shoes was gold or bronze as there is a slight metallic sheen. The eyelets are scalloped and retain their original metal holes as well as remnants of the original pink silk ties.
There is a low heel on the shoes and they are marked with the number 5 on the toe. The toe is slightly pointed, but not as defined as the French shoes. The inside of the shoe is white leather with a cardboard inner sole. I believe these shoes are German made rather than French.
The shoes measure 2.5" long heel to toe, 1" across the ball of the foot, and .75" across the heel.
They are adorable and in very wearable condition with some new ribbon ties.
