This little wool flannel shirt would be perfect for a small antique cloth or paper mache doll. It measures 7" neck to hem, 5.5 across the shoulders. There is no waist to speak of. The neckline is detailed with pretty featherstitching done in a turkey red thread. The flannel has aged to a soft ivory, and there are very light areas of darker yellow spotting. These may come out with a soaking, as I never tried to clean the piece. My favorite part of this little garment in the patch under one arm. It's skillfully done and not noticeable when it's being worn by a doll. The front edge of the seams in the front of the garment are raw as if they've been cut or unfinished. It's a sweet, somewhat primitive little shirt which could be also used as a night gown for an antique bisque and compo baby doll.
