This lovely DEP was made by Simon Halbig and was sold as a French doll, sometimes with the Jumeau stamp. She is on a wonderful Jumeau type body and has the beautiful fine quality that we expect from Simon Halbig. The DEP's are some of my favorite dolls and this beauty is just exceptionally pretty. She stands 20" tall with beautiful deep blue spiral glass sleep eyes, wax and lashes. She has painted lashes on the bottom, molded, feathered brows, an outlined open mouth with teeth. Her bisque is exceptionally lovely with delicate coloring. She is marked DEP 8. There are no hairlines or repairs to this pretty head and no flaws that I can see.
She is on her lovely fully jointed French Jumeau type body with it's original finish, except for her hands which have a repaint due to flaking. This is a very common occurrence with this type of body and they are very well done. This is really a super body with just a small amount of age wear.
This lovely child is wearing a darling pale mint green cotton replacement dress with mint green ribbon and lace. She has a darling matching bonnet made of silk, tulle and flowers. Her underwear is vintage and she has replacement shoes and socks. She has a beautiful dark blond long French replacement human hair wig and cardboard pate.
What a lovely DEP! She is just a nice as they come and will be a wonderful addition to any collection! c. 1900
