This fantastic Coiffe Limoges chocolate pot violets set was made with french factory transfers and then many fine brush strokes of enameling were added onto the violet centers, and petals. A french Limoges factory artist finished off each piece of this 11-piece set with flourishes and bandings of gold. This entire set is in like-new condition and a perfect set for the discriminating buyer.
The Lewis Straus & Son exporting firm brought this beauty to America and the overglaze export marks are on the reverse. This company exported only professionally decorated porcelains. The french Coiffe factory made these white ware pieces between 1891-1914.
The tray is a generous 16 inches across, and holds this set very nicely. Standing 9 inches tall to the finial, the chocolate pot possesses gilded scalloped edges along the top and the foot. The 4 cups and 4 saucers also have violets and greenery all the way around. Be sure to check out our photos, and contact us if you desire more.
