Zionist Congress Karlsbad, 1921. Registered Cover.

Czechoslovakia 1921. Attractive cover of the 1921 Zionist Congress, held in Karlovy Vary – Karlsbad.

13 stamps all tied by bilingual cancellations. Nr. 4538 at back. Fine condition.

This was the first Congress held after the First World War. The Zionist movement had been supported by the British government, hoping the Balfour Declaration would thus be fulfilled, after which an own Palestine state would be founded.

President of the WZO was Weizmann and Sokolow the President of the executive.

Further issues at the Congress were the relations of Zionism with the Arab countries and the establishment of Keren HaYesod, with the purpose of fundraising for Palestine.
