Leopold Lindtberg (born in Vienna in 1902; died in Sils in 1984) was an Austrian/Swiss film and theatre director. He fled Austria when the Nazi took over and ultimately settled in Switzerland.

In 1922 he debuted at the Berlin ,,dramatischen Theater" as actor. 1926 he debuted as film director. Being a Jew he had to flee after Hitler annexed Austria. He fled to Paris, Warsaw and Tel Aviv and finally settled in Switzerland in 1933. Till 1948 he was directors at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, then member of honor and occasionally director at the Burgtheater, 1963/64 he taught at the Reinhardt-Seminar, 1963 to1965 he was director at the Academy of Films and at he Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Wien.

He directed quite a few movies, in 1946 he won the Golden Globe for The last Chance, as well as the Grand Prix in Cannes and the International Peace Award. Several awards, medals, honoring followed.
