Large Maynard Ferguson photograph inscribed and signed with golden pen: "To Günter- All the Best! /Maynard/Ferguson /77".

B/w, 16 x 12 inches. Photograph by Peter Brunner, Vienna (stamped on verso), a well know photographer of musicians. The photo has 2 remnants form sticking tape at the back, minor aging only.

Maynard Ferguson (1928-2006) was a Canadian-born jazz trumpet player and band leader. He first came to prominence in Stan Keaton's Innovations Orchestra in Los Angeles.

Ferguson recorded several albums with his Birdland Dream Band, and the other bands he led. They toured across the U.S. and worldwide. They music was ranging from big band swing to cool jazz to jazz/rock, the genre featured on one of his most popular albums, Chameleon.

Ferguson was known for his ability to skilfully play in the high registers of the trumpet, also developed unique instruments, including a trumpet played with the left hand rather than the right and the "Firebird" and "Superbone", variations on the trombone.
