This hand painted double handled dish features a stylized serene landscape with a woman (perhaps a geisha) looking out to sea from a garden with palm trees, flowers, and a pagoda. Use the lovely collectible for special occasions and/or display it in your home or office.
CONDITION: the elongated oval bowl is in excellent vintage condition (no chips, cracks, or repairs); light wear.
MARK: Noritake red or magenta M in wreath Hand Painted, Made in Japan mark, registered in 1918 (DHS #27.3) and used in the late Art Nouveau and early Art Deco eras.
COLORS: creamy bone china white with gold, black, green, rusty red, and blue.
SIZE: the dish is about 12" long – great for serving celery, asparagus, relish, nuts, candy, etc.
