Perfect Antique Edwardian Gilt Brass & Enamel Buckle Pin
Welcome to ROBINS NEST MIDWEST! May I offer for your consideration....
AGE: C.1900 or so
ITEM: A gilt brass and enamel (pale blue and white) buckle pin. Can be used as a shawl pin or skirt pin or cloak pin or cape pin - well, let's just say it can be used any number of ways! The Victorian meaning of the piece is clear - "I'm taken - buckled - to someone else" - but again, it's a pretty nice design all on its own. Simple c-clasp closure.
CONDITION: Very nice with no problems I can spot. Brass has patinated a bit, there are some specks of metal showing through the white enamel against one rim (factory mishap and nothing more).
METAL CONTENT: Gilt brass I am thinking.
HALLMARKS: Well, the back reads GENUINE CLOISONNE - that's it.
SIZE: 2-3/16" x 1-1/2" on a straight line (buckle is slightly curved).
FINAL COMMENTS: Ready to wear!
