Vintage 830 Silver Denmark Fish Brooch Pin

This whimsical vintage brooch dates from the early 1930's. Made of 830 silver (the Scandinavian standard through the 1930s, with a slightly lower silver content than sterling, which is 925 parts per 1000), it features an openwork design with applied silver fish and silver bead accents.

The brooch measures 1 3/4" by 1 3/8". The back has a simple fold-over c-clasp and is signed "LJ 830S 1." This lovely piece is in excellent condition.

The brooch is a book piece, appearing in Fred Rezazadeh's Collectible Silver Jewelry Identification and Value Guide (2005 print), page 103. I believe it is misattributed to Allan Christensen, whose contemporary pieces bear no resemblance to the design of this brooch.

The matching pendant is available separately; we are happy to consider reasonable offers on the set.
