These sweet old earrings are by Wachenheimer Bros. of Providence, R.I. Active from 1907 until 1931s, the firm specialized in high-quality sterling jewelry set with semi-precious stones, often with a distinctly arts & crafts design sensibility. These are a good example of the style, with denim lapis cabochons set in sterling silver that has been formed into a roses and vines pattern.
Measuring 7/16" by 1 1/2", the earrings are in excellent condition, with their rich, dark patina intact. The detail is quite impressive, with the screwback mechanisms finished with charming roses. The back of each earring dangle is signed "Wachenheimer Sterling."
