This classic David-Andersen spoon is in his famous "City Hall with Fan (Raadhus med vifte)" pattern. Made of sterling silver with a gold vermeil wash, the spoon is finished with vitreous glass (kiln-fired) enamel in pearlescent, translucent white. The enamel is applied over a textured surface.
The spoon is unusual in that it is larger than the teaspoons of the same pattern and the bowl is enameled in addition to the handle. This piece comes in its original David-Andersen box.
The spoon measures 5" by 1 3/8" and is in excellent condition. The back of the handle is signed "D-A 925S Norway Sterling" along with Andersen's scales mark.
The box measures 6" by 1 1/8" by 2" and is in fair condition. One corner of the lid is separated, the original off-white color is somewhat yellowed, and the cotton inside the box may not be original. The lid is printed with Andersen's scales logo, "David-Andersen," and "Carl-Johans Gate 20 Oslo Norway."
