Gorgeous Vintage Lea Stein Pearlized Golden Poodle Brooch

One Very Cute French Poodle and very avant garde, with cropped fur and big lipstick red pom poms cut into flower shapes at either end! She is walking her jaunty Parisienne walk with ear blowing in the wind and emerald green bow atop her head. She is a pearlized gold with color striations running through the celluloid, she has a black painted eye and at the back is a silver tone V fastening signed Lea Stein Paris. The reverse of the brooch is silver white, striped, lucite; the brooch is in excellent condition and measures 2 1/8" across x 2 1/4" down. I have researched this piece and the style indicates it is a first edition piece, probably 1980's.

Lea Stein was born in 1931 in Paris and married the Chemist F. Steinberger during the 50s, her husband created the celluloid laminate used in the making of her fabulous jewellery. Before running her own company, she worked for Cocoa Chanel and in 1969 she started producing her own range of jewelery, brooches, rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings and lots more. Production stopped briefly in the 80's, but was re-started due to popular demand.

Because of the manufacturing process, every brooch is different and individual, her jewelry is extremely collectible and although not made during the 20's and 30's, it is considered very Art Deco in its style.
