Dramatic Large Antique Gesso Framed OIL PAINTING Still Life Poppy Flowers

Striking and lovely antique large framed oil painting on canvas from my collection - measuring 27" tall by 19" wide - actual painting is 15" wide by 23" tall. Featuring a gorgeous still life of large Poppy flowers, buds and trailing leaves, summer colors are warm and rich in gold, cream and rust against a deep green background. Painted on canvas and wrapped slightly around the edges of a wood mount, it has been set into an ornate gilded gesso frame - a cardboard mat has been used to cover the slight difference between the exterior frame size and the actual painting - you can see from the back how the painting was mounted into the frame - ingenious. I think this is such a striking piece - colors are dramatic and artist was extremely skilled - I can find no signature, but it may be underneath the mat. Condition of the oil painting is very nice with no tears, holes, creases, "denting" or discoloration - the gesso frame has some wear and loss - gives it a wonderful, shabby look. Just a large and lovely still life floral oil painting dating turn of last century - displays beautifully - gorgeous addition to any home or collection!
