Small Painted Hanging Spice Box

Sweet little hanging spice box with great green over red paint.Six small drawers over one large drawer with natural wood pulls. Sides mortised into back. The piece is signed and dated behind the large drawer: Eger 1940, Deaki Laszlo, Vermes Juliskanak. There's a paper label on the back from a shop, Atlantic, with a London phone exchange. So it seems this little spice box was made during WWII in one of the Eastern European countries and found itself bought up during the antique exploitation of those countries in the 90's and early 2000's, and ended up in London and ultimately bought by George Davis for his Maine shop, Weeds. Condition: very good Size: 10.5W x 8.5H x 3.5D
