AMETHYST & Diamond Pendant - 14 Kt. Yellow Gold Setting - Large Amethyst Oval 46.54 Cts. & 32 Diamonds (1Ct. Total weight) - With Appraisal

If you saw my Blue Topaz pendant also listed, this pendant was purchased the same time during the late 1970's from the same New York City jeweler. Like the Blue Topaz, this pendant was also only worn 2-3 times and is in excellent condition and has a current appraisal from a long established Princeton, NJ jeweler.

Please note that i added two photos of the pendant taken sideways because I noticed a slight photo distortion when the high rounded top of the stone was photographed making it appear wider than it actually is, The pendant is more elongated than the rest of the photos show it. The measurements of the stone surrounded by the gold bezel are 3/4" across x 1-1/4" long.

Amethyst has always been a very desired and popular stone, the color of Royalty and the Birthstone for the month of February. The color of this large 46.54 ct. stone is a beautiful shade of purple, not too dark and not a pale lavender, but a very rich deep purple with highly desired rose-colored flashes. The way the stone is faceted makes it come alive and sparkle. Like the Blue Topaz, this stone was also cut by a skilled master jeweler.

The current Appraisal has a value of $3,500.00 and describes the pendant as follows:

Oval pendant, stamped 14K, set with one bezel set faceted oval amethyst very rich dark color, evenly dispersed measuring 32mm x 19.5mm x 14.9mm with an approximate weight of 46.54 cts. surrounded by 32 bead set round diamonds with an approximate total weight of 1.00ct. SI 1-SI 2 in clarity and G-H in color. Pendant weighs 15.2 dwt (23.6 grams). Amethyst measures 7 on Mohs scale of hardness.

My overall measurements for the pendant not including the bale is 39mm x 28mm across the widest center, with a 16mm profile. The bale has an opening a little larger than 1/4" that would fit a chain or omega style chain through, Please note the omega chain in my photos is not included in this listing.
