This Native American Eskimo Indian Folk Art Doll is approximately 8" in height. She has a hand painted leather face. Her very expressive face is simply painted with black ink showing eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth. Her hair is black, showing a center part. Her head is covered in a fur hood trimmed with longer fur. Her outfit is a long fur shift trimmed at the wrists and hem with matching white fur. She wears brown leather boots.
All stitching and fabric are in good condition. I find no stains, tears or loose stitching. The fur has aged to a soft ecru color. The fur that trims the hood is a little thin in places.
This is a very unique doll. She date to before 1945 and is from the original owner's private doll collection.
