1930 Miniature Perfume Bottle " Scotch Maid"

From the Prohibition Era, Robinson's "Extra Scotch Maid" perfume in a miniature bottle which looks just like something one would purchase from a liquor store today, or back in the day a "Speakeasy", a place of the Underground where illegal selling of alcohol was sold and consumed. This vanity scent was made by Robinson's Cosmetics in New York City and at one time held 1-1/4 drams of scent from 1930.

The paper label on front is completely in tact, but is stained. The black bakelite screw cap is ribbed along the sides in an Art Deco fashion. Beneath is an enlarged embossed "S" which appears to be within an embossed bottle. Interesting mark.

I bet the ladies back in the day felt just a little rebel-like carrying these miniature perfumes in their purse. I can imagine what a fun conversation piece they must have been. And what did the police think when they first came across these iconic shaped historical bottles from days gone by.

Size: 2-5/8" x 3/4".

Condition: Pristine. Bottle is perfect, no chips, cracks or fleabites. I will clean the bottle if you wish but the perfume in nice with a flowery scent and smells alcoholic free.
