"DeFleuro" scented Lime perfume was introduced in 1938. Ooops, not a perfume though it has a wonderful scent, it is called "Deodorant Perfume". This rare Art Deco molded glass bottle has a lovely silver and black foil label embossed with a rather large Lily. Scripted on the label is "DeFleuro deodorant scented ** Fingertip application ** Distributed by DeFLEURO Sales Co in Topeka, Kans. * 1 Fluid Oz ** C 1938 C.S. Co. Yet another item that WAS made in the USA.
The black bakelite screw top has an Art Deco design used on many perfume bottles from days gone by. Embossed beneath the bottle is "2 4 8" There is also a smaller black and silver foil label on front of the presentation box.
Perfume bottles are seen all day, but this is the first deodorant bottle I have seen in my eight years of being on the hunt. Another big plus in the original presentation box!
Even today there are those who prefer placing a dab of perfume on underarms rather than commercial deodorant used these days.
Condition: Pristine! No chips or cracks or scratches. Still smells great, even many vintage perfumes have not held there scent as this deodorant has. The box is sturdy, some staining on back. Measures 4-1/4" x 2".
