An Art Deco Gimp Corde handbag designed by "Bobbie Jerome", popular during the 1940's. The jet black satin has a shimmery-shiny look, very sexy. Back in the day gimp corde purses gave you most for your money being made to last with little wear and coming out of the depression and going into WWII, this proved to be quite an asset.
The exterior is made up of heavy gimp black satin cord strung against each other, traveling back and forth. The "V" zig-zag lines at the top is where the satin cord turns to continue the pattern.
This vintage handbag has a snap tight gold clasp. Two large brass rings attach the doubled satin strap. The interior is smooth black satin with the "Bobby Jerome" logo printed in gold lettering. There is a side pocket that still holds a vanity mirror.
Size: 9" x 8-1/4". With the double strap 9" x 13".
Condition: The purse is MINT! The mirror has aged indicative of very vintage age.
