Hand made Violin Brooch in silver with micro-micro mosaic glass from Italy. The white violin has a Rose and floral bouquet in colors of red, pink yellow, orange and blue. The neck is baby blue and white striped. The four pegs look to be brass. There is even a little silver scroll at the top The micro mosaic glass chips are set within a silver bezel.
Many string instruments in micro mosaic art work were made. The most common these days are the Mandolin and Guitar
I tested the white metal and it did test to be silver, but hesitant about saying it is Sterling Silver, the test for Sterling was a bit "iffy" for me. There are no hallmarks but these micro mosaic pieces of jewelry became popular in the early 1900's. The glass used back in those days were much smaller than the more recent micro mosaic items. This piece is definitely an older piece.
