A vintage ceramic vase with incised illustrations of Asian ladies tending to daily routines. Glazed in pastel blues, greens and brown hues plus jet black sleek long hair. The contemporary pictorials are quite handsome, the hands, faces and bare feet were left natural terracotta red. The four sided vase depicts several women in period dress.
One peasant woman carries her gatherings using a shoulder pole. Two women carry a basket in hand. One panel illustrates two ladies with food baskets, one sits as if preparing food.
The workmanship is very good. The incised lines were drawn with expertise. The interior is glazed with a neutral beige.
There are no hallmarks or origins from where this lovely piece of pottery came from.
Size: 12" x 5" at its widest point. Weighs almost three pounds.
Condition: Pristine. The glaze on the rope hanging from the carrying pole has small nibbles. Other than this small flaw everything is perfect.
