Antique Porcelain Figurine Center Piece Bowl
The pair of Cherubs rest against the lower half as if they are the figurehead on the bow of a ship, protecting from whatever may come. A green glazed leafy cabbage surrounds the center piece bowl. Beneath is a bisque finish. The beautiful curly haired blonde is partially bisque and partially glazed..
There are marks beneath. Etched into the porcelain before firing are the numbers "14196". There is a two part blue glazed hall mark which I could not confirm, a straight line next to an 'X'. I attribute the piece to Meissen in Germany. There were several smaller factories throughout Germany and Italy which used "X's" of a similar nature as well as Varages in France. If you recognize the mark, please by all means write me. I have looked in books and several well known web pages and still in question.
Size: 7-1/2" x 7-1/2"
Condition: Pristine. There is no crazing or other types of damage. It does have yellowing on the porcelain interior From Days Gone By.
