The sun slowly sinks over the water, highlighting the autumn gold that is starting to appear in the trees. The light is soft and the scene is oh so welcoming. We could look into this bowl forever and imagine ourselves in this peaceful evening setting, possibly on a boat heading out into the unknown.
The bowl has a beautiful scalloped shape, and sits on a short pedestal. The hand painted scene fills the inside of the bowl. It has a matte finish, while the white glaze of the outside and pedestal is glossy. The rim is painted brown edged in darker brown and tiny dots around the outside. The rim of the base is also painted brown.
This bowl bears the green M in Wreath Nippon mark, which dates it to between 1889 and 1921.
SIZE: Height is 3 1/4". Diameter of the bowl is 6 3/8", while the diameter of the base is just over 3".
CONDITION: This bowl is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or scratches.
