SALE on Authentic Austrian Wenger Dirndl Skirt from Innsbruck! On my last European trip with the High School choir while I was still teaching, I bought a beautiful Austrian dirndl skirt and Boiled Wool jacket, and wore them for probably 8-10 years when our elementary students would have a Day of Nations, and we dressed in authentic costumes of our country. I taught them all about Austria, so this was my costume.
Alas, when I just now looked, there were 2-3 moth eaten places in the jacket, so this listing is for the SKIRT ONLY. If you'd still like the jacket(I'll add a picture), I can work that out for you.
The European size for this great dirndl skirt is 42 and the tag reads 42 Wenger. The inside tag reads: 100% Baumwolle...Futter 100% Viskoso. The skirt fastens in the back with hooks and eyes and a zipper, and it is fully lined. Just below the top band of the skirt, there is app. 1 3/4" of smocking that has a little bit of stretch to it where it meets the gathers.
The waist is 28" around, and from there, it only gets larger and hangs full with all the gathers. Approximately 6 1/2" from the bottom, there's a black velvet ribbon that goes all the way around. Above and below the ribbon there are 4 rows of topstitched tucks.
The color is darker than it appears in the picture. There are shades of a deep maroon to a lighter wine color, with white all over dots and what little bunches of flowers that look like they are stenciled onto the cloth. The skirt is app. 31" long from top to bottom. It is very full and fun, and quite authentic for what the Austrian girls wore.
I am always happy to combine purchases to save you on shipping, so please be sure to let me know if you are interested in other items I have listed.
Thanks so much for shopping with me, and God Bless You! May we honor Him in all we say and do!
