SALE DARLING CHILD'S OR BABY DOLL'S SHIRT FROM LONG AGO!
Look at this adorable shirt I purchased at a local mall who has some great collectibles! They called it a young boy's shirt, although I think a large doll or even a little girl "could have" worn it. However, it does button from the left hand side, which does indicate it was for a little boy. At any rate, it does look like one a little boy might have worn in the early 1900's. It actually reminds me of pictures of children who lived in Colonial times that you see in the Pilgrim books. Or, perhaps it was worn by an Amish Child. I'm just not sure, but know it's an oldie.
There is so much style to this little shirt! With a big round collar that is top stitched, wide cuffs with gathering above them, and an inch of gathering above and below the bottom button, this is just precious! There are 4 Mother of Pearl colored buttons for use, and then 6 more are used for decoration.
It measures app. 12 1/2" from shoulder to shoulder at the sleeve seam, and it is 12" long. The sleeves are 12 1/4" long. This darling shirt is very clean, save 2 teeny spots that aren't that noticeable and it is pressed and ready for wear. The color is sort of like a pale peach....or a very pale orange sherbet, almost like the crayola Flesh color!
I think this little shirt/blouse would just be darling hung as part of a display of early child's clothing, but you may want to dress your favorite large doll or baby doll in it! You won't be disappointed.
