I don't know where all the "Tis the Season" pieces are anymore, but I sure don't run across them in my area. This is not the new stuff that is being reproduced overseas, but the original Vicki Carroll pottery that is now retired. I believe this is a soap dish, but it would also be great to drop your rings in or just keep little trinkets. With the familiar shaded green Christmas tree with a bright yellow star on top, this piece probably would be classified as a "seconds" piece because it looks like the second coat of burgundy paint was missed on one side. But these pieces all differed from item to item, because they weren't mass produced. Even with the flaw in making, I still love this piece. All around the sides, it also has the rose to burgundy swirls and the light and dark green large stripes. It is also signed and dated Vicki Carroll 97 and the copyright 93 year.
Oval in shape, this dish measures app. 4 5/8" x 3 3/8", and has no chips, cracks or breaks. You will love it, if you are a Vicki Carroll collector. I love the cobalt blue oval ring around the inside decoration as well! You won't be disappointed.
