Fabulous French guilloche enamel powder compact locket with gold gilt inlay. This ultra-feminine compact has it's original bail to wear on a chain around your neck. It is beautiful butterscotch guilloche enamel, a rare, sunny hue. It has gilt mounts and gilt inlay flower and leaves. It's simply stunning, and the back is just as gorgeous as the front, it is enameled front and back, the back also has the gold inlaid flowers and leaves and the center is raised, just like the front. The tiered lid opens to reveal the original mirror with it's gold braided retaining ring. The original tiny swan's down powder puff is with it, with delicate ribbon handle. There are the last traces of the original powder still in it. It's in excellent condition, with no damage or losses. The mirror has a bit of powder residue on it, and is not perfectly clear but it is the original mirror and is undamaged. The compact opens easily and snaps shut securely. It measures 1 5/8" in diameter. Unmarked, French, circa 1910-1920. Rare and fabulous, a truly one of a kind treasure for the vanity compact collector, or someone who likes to wear fine enamel as jewelry.
