A most unusual, miniature Redware Jug with a wide mouth (no spout), handle and drip-glaze (exterior is glazed only about 1/2 way down the side; interior is glazed throughout). The jug is 4" tall and 2 ½" in diameter at the top; base is 2 1/8" diameter. Molded line around the top edge and 1 side of the handle (probably a mold mark on the handle). The jug dates to the 19th Century and is in very fine (or better) condition: there are no chips, cracks, lines, etc. The one tiny edge nick at the top is underglaze. As nice an example of these little jugs as I have seen.
