A very bold English Pearlware Polychrome Floral Jug, decorated with large and colorful overglaze flower and dating c. 1825-1830. Jug is 5 ½" high and the handle to spout distance is about 7 ¼". Wonderful bulbous shape and strong pearlware glaze. Flowers are enameled in red, yellow and blue, with green leaves and a brown highlight on the top rim. No maker's mark. Very fine condition. The colors are extremely strong and the overall effect very pleasing. Some minor peeling of the blue enamel on some of the flower pedals and the brown edge, especially around the spout, and there is a very faint, ¼" hairline down from the top edge just to the right of the handle (see photo). No other chips, cracks, lines or repairs.
