A small, c. 1840 Staffordshire Child's Mug with reddish transfer and a lustre border. The image shows a couple, embracing next to a saddled horse. There is a hunting dog in the scene. The mug is 2 ½" tall and 2 ¼" in diameter. Very fine condition, or better, especially for a child's mug: there are no chips, cracks, lines or restorations. The transfer is complete and strong. No maker's markings, and the mug dates to the first half of the 19th Century.
