A small Gaudy Welsh Cream Jug or Creamer in what I think is the Oyster Pattern. From the shape and molded features on this jug, I think it dates to the middle of the 19th Century, c. 1850. The pitcher has a strong cobalt blue decoration, with gold highlights. There are also green and pink lustre leaves, rose-colored flowers and other cobalt highlights. There is also a fence-like decoration toward the bottom. In addition, the jug has molded lines around the base and coggle decoration around the top edge and around the neck, in addition to molded decoration under the spout. The little pitcher is in very fine condition: clean with no chips, cracks, lines, etc. There is virtually no flaking of the enameling, nor the cobalt blue decoration or the gilt highlights. Part of a collection of Gaudy Welsh, mostly miniatures, that I recently acquired.
