19th C. Gaudy Welsh Creamer / Small Jug ~ Oyster Pattern, c. 1840

A 4" Gaudy Welsh Jug or Creamer in what I believe is the "Oyster Pattern", c. 1840. The jug is 4" to the top of the handle and the handle to spout distance is about 5 ¼". Strong cobalt blue decoration, with gold highlights. Green, rose and tan are the other colors used on this classically shaped cream pitcher. No maker's mark. Very fine condition: clean and crisp decoration, with no chips, cracks, lines, etc. Only very minor enamel flaking (scattered) and some glaze rubbing on the edge of the spout. Part of a collection of Gaudy Welsh, mostly miniatures, that I recently acquired.
