Dark Blue Historical Staffordshire Plate ~ Tams Foliage Border

An extremely dark cobalt blue Historical Staffordshire dinner plate (10 ½" in diameter) showing an unknown view (according to my English dealer-friends) of a large mansion with minaret-type turrets; there is a family (adults in odd-looking hats) standing in the foreground). The plate is from Tams' Foliage Border Series and dates c. 1820. It has a boldly scalloped edge, with cabling around the perimeter. The color is one of the darkest blues I have ever seen, especially on an English view. There are no maker's marks.

The plate shows magnificently, with its dark blue color. The glaze is very shiny and there are virtually no utensil marks on the face of the plate. No chips or cracks, but there is a very faint crow's foot (spider) that can be seen on the back side (only): it does not go through to the front of the plate and does not threaten the integrity of the piece (see last photo).
