9.5" x 7.5" not counting the mount
An interesting composite photograph of a c1870s tourist couple posing on the edge of one of the wonders of the new world. Of course it's a fake. They were either photographed in a studio or more likely on safer ground near the Falls and then super imposed. They are sitting on a twig love seat which sat on some type of decking. They are wearing their Sunday best and came prepared. Note the binoculars. He is smiling gently while she is somewhat stern. The view is of the American Falls with the Canadian Horseshoe Falls in the background. The odd looking structure existed. It covered the inclined railway which brought tourists down to the river level and the Maid of the Mist.
Some fading and a gentle crease running form the edge to the lady's hat. The black object at upper right is in the negative. All in all a lovely image of the mighty Niagara Falls taken 135 years ago give or take a year.
