Majolica Humidor Fox on Hen House - Figural Majolica Tobacco Jar c1890
This rare figural Humidor has had a pampered life for 120 years or so. As pristine as the day it was made, somewhere in Germany or Bohemia. Not even the fox's ears or nose are chipped, usually the first casualty. Ultra shiny glaze and careful color application. The chicken coop is somewhat bluer than my photos. The leafy lid is a lovely olive green. The piece is impressed with the numbers "10201 II"
